Prior to your appointment

Lotions and moisturizers

Avoid using lotions and moisturizers 2-3 days prior to your appointment. Although you may think you are doing your tattoo artist a favor by bringing them freshly moisturized skin, lotions/ moisturizing can interfere with proper stencil adhesion.

Shaving

If the area you are wanting tattooed is covered with hair it is a courtesy to shave this area prior to your appointment. If you don’t have the time or you forget, no worries, your tattoo artist will be happy to accommodate you.

Eat some food and drink water

Although you may be able to endure the potential pain of a tattoo, your body needs fuel to combat that pain. Getting tattooed on an empty stomach lowers your pain tolerance and can cause you to feel light headed or even pass out during your session. No one likes passing out. Hydration goes hand in hand, but please hydrate with water and not alcohol. Alcohol thins the blood and can make your tattoo artists job more difficult.

Wear appropriate clothing

At Cynic Tattoo Studio we wont tell you what to wear, that’s not our job. However, to make our job a little easier we ask that you wear appropriate clothing for the area you are getting tattooed. This means if you are getting a leg tattoo, it might not be the best idea to wear long pants. If your are getting a tattoo on your arm, a long sleeve might not be the best option. It’s also important to note that the clothing you do wear may be exposed to excess ink , ointment, and cleaning solution if it is in close proximity to the tattooed area.

Pre existing conditions

Please inform your artist of any health conditions you may have prior to your appointment. Some health conditions can interfere with the tattoo process and discovering this mid session can be an inconvenience to your artist or prevent the session from even taking place.

Payment

Cynic Tattoo Studio is a cash only establishment. If a cash payment is not possible, an alternate form of payment can be arranged with additional charges.

Drugs and alcohol

All clients must be of sound mind and judgement to sign our disclosure forms. If a client is suspected of being under the influence of drugs or alcohol they will be denied service and their deposit will not be refunded.

If you fail to show up for your appointment, arrive to your appointment 30 minutes after the scheduled time, or fail to reschedule your appointment 24hrs in advance, the deposit will be forfeited and an additional deposit will be required to reschedule.
